Wildlife Corridors

Along the Kinabatangan River in Malaysian Borneo, Hutan's Indigenous women are helping a rainforest return.

‍

From thousands of young trees growing in Hutan’s nursery to seedlings planted within essential wildlife corridors, their work is part of a long-term effort to reconnect a landscape shaped by decades of human pressure.

‍

From its beginnings as an orangutan research project, Hutan works to protect threatened wildlife and restore the habitats they depend on. Combining decades of scientific research with community-led conservation, Hutan is working toward a future in which people and wildlife can continue to coexist within one of Borneo’s most extraordinary landscapes, a habitat vital to the Earth's biodiversity.
